COMED at MedTech Malta 2025: Reflections from Our CEO

Cenk Öztürk, MD reflects on the engagement of Malta’s leadership with COMED’s cancer research and the country’s growing focus on medical innovation and investment.

Today, COMED shares the heartfelt reflections of our CEO, Dr. Öztürk, from MedTech Malta 2025:

“I had the privilege of representing COMED at MedTech World Malta 2025 today, by the kind invitation of Cancer Research & Innovation Hub Malta, and I'm deeply moved by the genuine engagement from Malta's leadership. When a Prime Minister, Minister of Economy, and CEOs of national agencies personally engage in substantive discussions about how to transform cancer treatment—not protocol, but real science—you know you're in a special place.

Thank you Prime Minister Dr. Robert Abela, Minister for the Economy Silvio Schembri, Malta Enterprise CEO George Gregory, CRIHM Executive Chair Prof. Christian Scerri and Manager Aaron Fenech, and MedTech World CEO Dylan Attard MD, MRCSI, MEnt. for your sincere commitment to understanding our science. It sends a powerful message: Malta is serious about becoming a global hub for medical innovation. Special gratitude also to Melanie Debattista and the rest of the FDI Team at Malta Enterprise for their unwavering support in making COMED's vision a reality.

Malta doesn't just talk about becoming a medical technology hub. They act. And COMED is proud to grow alongside this vision.”
